RESET YOUR YEAR

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Yes, seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

(Proverbs 3:5-6)

“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Then He will establish your plans, and make them succeed.”

(Proverbs 16:3)

“So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.”

(2 Chronicles 27:6)

Happy New Year once again! Our God is faithful. Glory to God!

As already introduced in the 2026 bulletin, this is our year of going on to NEXT LEVELS. God is set to bring us into new spaces; indeed, He has already begun to move in our midst. All we need to do is perceive what He is doing and align ourselves with His plans. It is my prayer that what eyes have not seen, nor ears heard—things we would never have imagined or thought possible—will be our experience from now on, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Our December series made us understand that we become what we behold. What we place before our eyes creates a mental picture and serves as a constant reminder of what is possible. When we stay with God and His Word, our eyes are enlightened to behold the limitless next level possibilities in Christ. It is important then that as we step into a new year, our focus is redefined and our mindsets reshaped. Hence, the prophetic focus for January 2026 is RESET YOUR YEAR

To reset is to start afresh or begin differently. A new year presents an opportunity to refine our strategies, plan intentionally, and refocus our energy. As the saying goes, one cannot continue doing the same thing and expect a different result. Resetting our year calls for deliberate strategizing and planning ahead. What do you see concerning 2026? What needs to be in place to get there?

In 2 Chronicles 27:6, the Bible records that King Jotham prospered because he prepared his way before the Lord. He did not make plans or set his resolutions apart from God. Did not Jesus say that “...apart from [Him], we can do nothing” (John 15:5b)? While it is important that we reset our year, we must ensure that we do so before God. We must involve Him in our resolution-making process, asking Him to open our eyes to see what to pursue this year. We need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit, even as He gives us insight into what God is doing and what He would have us do.

I believe strongly that the Lord is calling us to new things—as a church and as individuals. In 2026, we are going to be called into spaces that we never dreamed of entering, both in the secular sphere and in the church. We would be called upon to do new things and take on higher responsibilities. Jesus speaking in Luke 12:48 reminds us that the one to whom much is given, much will be required. 2025 was a year of exceeding abundant grace. In 2026, demand is going to be placed on that grace. There is a call to come up higher—in pursuit of knowledge, in service to God and man (ministry), in stewardship, and in every way. However, we must not be afraid or anxious because grace has been made exceedingly sufficient for the journey. Like He said to Joshua in Joshua 1:9, God is saying to us even now, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid! I am with you.”

As we step into 2026, I want to reassure you that God is with you, holding your hand and leading you along paths you have not walked before (Isaiah 42:16). Be open-minded and embrace all that God has in store for you. Indeed, 2026 is a blessed year for every one of us.
