Happy New Year MFH Family!
Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now (Phil 1:3-6, NLT).
Congratulations! You made it to the year 2024! I give glory to God, our Help in ages past and our Hope for the years ahead of us - amen. God has spoken concerning the year 2024 that He will do great and mighty things among us. He has repositioned us, His church, so we must therefore hit the ground running. Hence our theme for the year 2024 is “Divine Acceleration’’. This will be your experience in 2024 in Jesus’ name.
What is God saying concerning this year? First of all, 2024 is a leap year, so expect to enjoy divinely orchestrated quantum leaps in this new year. Amen! It is also our 7th anniversary as a church this year. We know that in the seventh year, thou shalt make a release (Deut 15:1). Among other things, 7 connotes release, perfection, completeness, victory. 2024 is such a great year already. I am so excited for what God is set to do in our lives as individuals, in our families, and corporately as a church this year!
So what is divine acceleration? We know that speed is distance covered over time. But acceleration is increased speed, and particularly in the forward direction. To move backwards is to decelerate, and God only leads forward. What then is the Holy Spirit saying? As we can see in the anchor Scripture, God is set to increase our momentum in this year. If you think you have been making progress, He is set to increase your pace above your expectation such that you will outrun the “horses” of life and gain new ground. For those who have been going at a snail’s pace, or experiencing one form of stagnation or the other, get ready to move. Because the hand of God is going to come mightily upon you such that you will outrun and gain more ground than those who are ahead of you.
You see, God controls time, and there are two ways in which He works to cause time to work in the favor of His children; restoration and speed. The one who has been married for 10 years without children, and suddenly by the mercies of God becomes pregnant with triplets has had time restored to her. In other words, the number of children that she should have had in the space of those 10 years is given to her at once, and so her waiting years are restored. This is good news for someone: that expression of delay in your life is coming to an end by the mercies of God, and you are fully and completely restored in Jesus’ name (Isa 61:7; Joel 2:25). The other dimension of control God has over time is speed. A good example will be that of a graduate whose life is going well and moving at a steady pace. Then the hand of God comes upon his life and he gets a promotion or an offer that should naturally take him years of experience and certifications to qualify for. In essence, God collapsed his journey of the next 10 years of his life, and brought it to him in his present. Again, God will do this in your life this year! What takes men years to accomplish, you will accomplish it in the space of a very short time by the hand of God upon your life in Jesus’ name!
Hitherto, some of you have experienced “mercy-drops” of blessings, but get ready, because in 2024, you will experience “showers of blessings”. Get ready for the downpour!
